This Privacy Policy explains how the Capture SOP Chrome extension handles user data. Capture SOP is designed to help users document workflows as step-by-step SOPs with screenshots and optional recording support, while keeping user data under user control.

1. Information Processed by the Extension

During a capture session, the extension may process and store:

• Captured workflow steps (user-initiated actions such as clicks)
• Page URL/title context for captured steps
• Screenshots associated with captured steps
• User settings (capture mode, visual options, recording preferences)
• Saved SOP procedures and editing metadata
• Optional recording output created by the user

2. Local Storage and Local Processing

Capture SOP stores extension data locally in the browser (for example, using chrome.storage.local and local browser storage mechanisms). The extension logic runs inside the browser extension environment.

• No analytics SDK is used.
• No advertising trackers are used.
• No user account is required to use core capture features.

3. Data Sharing and Sale

The developer does not sell personal data and does not transfer user data to third parties for advertising, profiling, or unrelated purposes.

Any export/share action (such as generating and sharing a PDF/video) is initiated and controlled by the user.

4. Permissions Usage

The extension requests permissions only to provide core SOP capture functionality:

• tabs: identify active tab, capture workflow context, open extension pages
• storage: save settings, captures, and SOP library data
• sidePanel: provide the main extension interface in Chrome Side Panel
• scripting: inject capture scripts/styles into selected pages when needed
• tabCapture: optional recording support for capture sessions
• host permissions: allow capture features on pages selected by the user

5. Remote Code

Capture SOP does not execute remote JavaScript or remote Wasm code. Executable code is packaged with the extension.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

Your extension data can be removed by:

• Deleting captures/library items from the extension UI
• Clearing browser extension/site data
• Uninstalling the extension

Once removed locally, data cannot be recovered by the developer.

7. Security

Data security depends on your device and browser security controls. Capture SOP is designed to minimize data exposure by processing and storing data locally.

8. Children’s Privacy

Capture SOP is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated when features or data practices change. Any updates will be reflected by revising the “Last Updated” date.
